I’m glad you’re here. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a roamer “as a wanderer who reason that he (or, in my case, she) can never be lost as he didn’t care where he was going.” A roamer is “a person who roams about without a fixed route or destination.” Does that definition fit you sometimes as well? It sure fits me.
I love being a roamer. At times, I do have a fixed destination and plan my trips, and other times my roams are unplanned and spur of the moment. I love to be open to new possibilities and opportunities, and I don’t mind if my roam takes longer or goes in different directions than I’ve planned. I’ve enjoyed many adventures.
Hi, I’m Judy, and I have an Class-C RV named Albea. I also have a large family which includes a husband, five adult children (who live on their own and in different states), a myriad of grandchildren (of various ages), a mom and a dad, and two sisters. Sometimes one, two, or even more of my family members join with me on a roam. Sometimes it is only Albea and I roaming together. Then there are times when Albea stays home, and I roam solo. (My large family may give reason to why at times I often prefer roaming solo or roaming only with Albea).
Being a roamer is a lifestyle, and I’ve always been one. At times, I roam vicariously through an eclectic taste of books, movies, and you-tube videos, and, at times, my wanderings are limited local state parks, museums, or attractions. I enjoy soaking up the ambience, the new sights, and the new smells.
I live in a modest home, work at a modest job, and enjoy modest income. In other words, I’m your “every-day” neighbor next-door woman who takes a roam or two whenever possible. Roaming, in whatever form, puts the life back into living.
I bought Albea in November 2021, during the pandemic and the rise of inflation. That pandemic was not an influencer in my decision; neither was my purchase a spur-of-the moment buy. I had been thinking about buying an RV for several years. The rising gas prices has put a damper on my roaming with Albea the way that I had envisioned for right now, but it has not dampened my roaming spirit at all. My blog here is to document some of my journeys, some of my challenges, some of my successes, and some of my losses. And my blog, like me, may not follow a particular a fixed route or structure course.
Again, another welcome! I’m excited for you to take this journey and roam with
